No race goes on without largely faceless support. Here are the volunteers manning the finish line. It was cold and windy.
I did duty at the Gatorade and water stop. I got it down after awhile. Gatorade up high and away, water down low and tight.
It got a little tricky at times. Good thing I practice yoga.

Yea.. I always try and thank volunteers at the stops. There would be no race without them! Good for you.
Thanks for being a volunteer. Volunteers ROCK!!
Nicely done, good for you. I really need to make it one of my annual goals to volunteer at races.
Hey! Good for you (and good for the runners, too, to have cheerful volunteers out in the weather.)
Awesome, really!
That lady in the blanket looks like she brought everything except her mattress!
Thank you! (I always thank volunteers, even when I'm not running :-)
Way to give back!!
I, too, thank the voluteers at races :)
Volunteers make races possible... and what a nice service... drink station within a 10km race...
In Iceland there is just drinks at the finishline in that short of a race. Great service, great work!
I volunteer for the first time last year I hope to do more. I still can't give up the races though.
you really ARE the volunteer of the year!
Thanks for sharing. I like the "I practice yoga" comment. It does take skill to get the hand-off done right!
Tom (you met him) volunteered at a half-marathon I did last year. He got the daunting task of removing the chips from the shoes of the runners. He ended up being much sorer than I was! Thanks for volunteering, Peter!
Peter, you're so wonderful to offer to do race support in cold weather like that! What would people do without volunteers to support the races! I tell you, they wouldn't be nearly as fun without the support! Funny yoga comment - like Gumby, huh?
